Artwork is work

Why is that no one considers artwork to be as taxing as a 9 to 5 job?

White People Can Keep It Because Black People Moved On...

White people have pretty much ruined anything it gets its hands on and if you don't believe me take a stroll back through time and look up some of these references: Christianity,WW1,WW2,breakdancing,soul music,t-shirts and of course rap videos. I went ahead and took time to jot some thoughts down on paper and I came up with a list of phrases which black culture popularized and then white people quickly basterized and therefore ruined for life. The Black culture has quickly moved on and survived quite happily and unscathed from the whole fiasco. The list is pretty short for now but I will constantly update it whenever I run into anymore phrases or words seeing that the town I live in produces young wigger country boys on a daily basis.

THE LIST:

Homie
Represent
Betta Recognize
Shorty or Shoatie
Da Crib
Booty
Blunted
Make It Rain
Badonkadonk
That's My Shit
Da Bomb
Fer Mad Realz
Awww Shit
Keepin It Real
Aight
Down Low
Oh Snap
All That (fat redneck girls call themselves alot I noticed)
True Dat
Bangin
Baller
WestSide
That's How I Roll
Gangsta (fat redneck guys call themselves that alot)
Krunk

Attention White People you may now use these words at will. The Black culture will now move on as it has for centuries....

Oh, and will white people please stop referring to their friends as "My Niggaz"
It sounds gaye.

Sorry, I Suck!

I am truly sorry my blog has fallen by the wayside but I had some extremely real things going on in my life and the life of my surrounding family. My mother-in-law has died of cancer on Black Friday of this year. In her wake she left 7 children, 12 grandchildren and a very, very unhappy son-in-law. Our relationship didn't start on solid ground but after a couple of years she warmed up to the idea of having a Hispanic Communist in the family. The last 6 years were pretty awesome in which we shared a very cool "You don't fuck with me I don't fuck with you attitude". My family never needed while she lived and now that she has passed nothing has changed. A truly inspiring person who spanned 51 years of marriage with the same man and raised 3 decades worth of children. A un tiring caregiver to my father-in-law and then to her oldest son who due to some medical malpratice suffered a crippling injury to his brain, she always had time to spend with her family and friends. On many occasions she donated heavily to charities and preservation societies and to the church, even though they were dicks to her. I never tired of her "Yoo-Hooing" me to get some project started or her stories of some young, hot spanish guy who was hitting on her when she was younger. She always laughed and smiled with people she never knew and told them long stories about her grandchildren even though they didn't seem to care. She was taken so quickly from us that it still seems surreal walking into her house. I still expect her to come shuffling out of the back and asking me to open some jar or medicine bottle because of her arthritic fingers. Or asking me if the kids would like some clothes she bought while she was out shopping. It comes crashing down on me during the weirdest moments. I only knew her for 12 years which doesn't seem like long but I will feel her presence until the day I pass... Goodnight Mom.

Morphine for the soul

Lately I have been a bit busy with a healthy dose of mortality. The brief time we spend on this earth can only be counted in years and accomplishments. What sort of legacy will you leave behind given a small amount of time? The earth was shaped over the course of millions of years to acheive the level of unimagineable beauty which exists today. According to scientists we have only existed as a species for a mere blink of an eye. What are we supposed to accomplish on such a truncated timetable? I sit next to a person who has taught me the meaning of the word "resilience". So it pains me much more to see the effects of the cancer that is ravaging their body. The invisible killer, the great equalizer...The way that people waste away is scarier than any zombie movie can ever hope to be. This is way too sad.
